Summer's End

as summer comes to a close, this is how we spent the holiday weekend....

taking one last swim in the pool before it closes for the season

fishing and boating out at the lake... anna can now cast by herself (and bait her own hook-- which is one step ahead of me... i hate worms!)

little j caught the first fish of the day, and reeled it in all by herself. when i asked her if she was ready to throw it back, she said, "no, i want to cook him!" we threw him back.

chasing butterflies... lucky for this one it managed to escape unharmed.

to top it off, we had a yummy italian dinner al fresco. it was a perfect end to a pretty great summer.
