last night, we left thanksgiving behind and this morning we awoke ready to celebrate the christmas season. on this chilly, windy late fall day, we've been hauling in storage boxes filled with lights, wreaths, and other festive decorations. one of our most treasured christmas items is the creche. there it was in its tattered box, filled with wrinkled tissue paper. it was sent to me in 1985 by my grammie k, along with this note. i loved it, and now so do my girls. we were trying to decide where to put it, and i thought that it should be at their level where they can get a good look at it (and touch it-- which jane did right away. she couldn't keep her little paws off of it!). we're so happy that christmas is almost here, and we're thankful that ben is home to spend it with us.

Love this.
This is so neat - what a great tradition for all of you. It looks like you had a nice Thanksgiving, we were thinking of you! Did I hear that you're coming north for Xmas? Can't wait to see you all and those chubby Lucy cheeks!
